Sarasota Memorial Hospital is the anchor of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, a regional medical center located in Sarasota County on Florida's Gulf Coast. With nearly 4,000 staff members, 800 physicians and more than 1,000 volunteers, it is the second-largest acute care public hospital in Florida and Sarasota County's second-largest employer.〔http://www.edcsarasotacounty.com/subpage.asp?navid=0&id=242〕 Sarasota Memorial is among the 20 largest public hospitals in the United States.〔http://www.beckershospitalreview.com/lists-and-statistics/20-largest-public-hospitals-in-the-united-states/print.html〕 The hospital – first named Sarasota Hospital – was the community’s first modern hospital. It opened its doors on November 2, 1925, replacing a temporary "tent hospital" and six-bed facility that had been used to treat patients with a modest 32-bed facility run by the county's welfare association. Today, that modest facility has grown into the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, a regional referral center with an 819-bed hospital and seven outpatient facilities, including a free-standing ER (its second Emergency Care Center), five urgent care centers,〔http://www.smhcs.org/urgentcare/〕 long- and short-term skilled nursing center, home health services, laboratory and imaging centers and specialty campuses stretching beyond the county lines. Sarasota Memorial is a full-service community health care system, providing many specialty care services, including heart and vascular, cancer, neuroscience services, orthopedic services, outpatient services, home health care, rehabilitative care and geriatric and long-term care. Sarasota Memorial is the only provider of obstetrical services and has the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in Sarasota County. The hospital is one of the first non-academic hospitals in the nation to develop a clinical research service that conducts studies in lung disease, cardiology and vascular disease, geriatric medicine and other specialty areas. == Sarasota Memorial’s Courtyard Tower == Sarasota Memorial’s $250 million Courtyard Tower, which opened fall 2013 is a nine-story, state-of-the-art facility. Three full floors are dedicated to Mother and Baby services, including: a Labor & Delivery floor, Mother-Baby floor, and an entire floor for the hospital's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. There are two Cardiac floors and a full floor dedicated to Orthopedics. The patient tower replaces about 220 beds from outdated 1960s-era areas of the hospital, adding more private rooms, a landscaped courtyard and the most advanced equipment and technology throughout. The tower project was designed to improve patient experience with the most advanced, patient-friendly features and a focus on privacy and safety. Courtyard Tower has the latest hurricane proofing available to help ensure continuing patient care in the event of a severe storm. Sarasota Memorial's focus on campus improvement will continue with construction on a comprehensive new five-story Rehabilitation facility in 2015. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Sarasota Memorial Hospital」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
